Contact Lens
Related Corneal Ulcer/Infection
Millions of people use contact lenses each day without incident, but some people do experience severe complications from contact lens use. Poor hygiene, contact lens overuse, and wearing poorly sized contact lenses (or cosmetic colored lenses) can lead to contact lens related eye infection.
Early detection and treatment is important in preventing vision loss from contact lens infection. If you wear contact lenses and have excessive eye redness or irritation, please see your eye doctor to determine if your symptoms are caused by an infection. Antibiotics are often needed to correct this problem.
