BOTOX® Cosmetic

We were all born with smooth, soft skin. During youth, frowning and smiling causes the muscles under our skin to contract and display facial lines of emotion. As soon as our emotions return to normal, our expression lines disappear. But as we go through a lifetime of emotions, our skin begins to lose elasticity. Some of the muscles of facial expression leave permanent wrinkles such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. These lines can make us look angry, tired, or stressed. As a result, this makes us look older than we feel and often times sends out an unintended message to others.

Turning back "the hands of time" has traditionally been considered cosmetic or for the sake of vanity. Today, a different attitude prevails. We all want to look as young and energetic as we feel. Several procedures are available to help you put your "best face" forward.

BOTOX® Cosmetic injection is a revolutionary procedure that can reduce or eliminate wrinkles of the face. BOTOX® works by selectively weakening facial muscles beneath the skin that are responsible for unwanted expression lines. It works by blocking the impulses from the facial nerves to the muscles and thereby relaxing them. The result is that facial muscles relax and as a result cause the skin to flatten and take on a smooth unwrinkled look. This is a simple, quick, and minimally invasive treatment that delivers dramatic results. You can resume all your activities immediately after treatment.

Blepharoplasty

Your eyes are often the first thing that people notice about your appearance. Even after a good night's sleep, loose skin or bags under your eyelids can make you look tired, sad, and older than you really are. As we go through life, even if we have taken care of ourselves, the skin around our eyes stretches and wrinkles. Fat deposits cause the upper and lower eyelids to sag, even for us who are at the normal weight. In severe cases, vision can become partially blocked by the drooping skin.

It's possible to correct sagging upper eyelids, as well as "bags" under the eyes. Plastic surgery for your eyes can lift your spirits as well as improve your vision. Blepharoplasty is the name of the surgical modification of the eyelids. This surgery is typically performed in the office under local anesthesia.
