Scheduling Appointments

Our office provides care for a wide variety of conditions. To efficiently serve you, we work by appointment, with the possibility of same day availability. This addresses the value of time and assures that specialized personnel and equipment are available for your particular needs. However, if you develop a problem that needs immediate attention, please contact us by telephone and we will make every effort to accommodate you. Because of anticipated problems and emergencies, your appointment may sometime be delayed. We will make every effort to keep such delays to a minimum and will keep you informed of any delay.

As a courtesy to other patients and our staff, please call the office at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment.
When scheduling appointments, please be aware that during your initial visit and occasionally thereafter, your eyes may be dilated. Please bring sunglasses. Although many people can drive after dilation, we encourage you to bring a driver for your return home from your appointment.

You may schedule your appointment by e-mail, if it is more convenient. If so, please indicate your choice in location, day, time, physician, and what the appointment is for (complete exam, follow up, glaucoma check, etc.). We will in return e-mail you back with the specific information regarding your appointment.

The Eye Examination

For your first visit, please bring in all eyeglasses and contact lenses that you currently wear. You can expect that your visit for a routine eye exam may take 45 minutes to an hour. If you are being fitted for contact lenses, your appointment may last up to two hours, while your follow-up visit for contact lenses will take 15 to 20 minutes.

The Eye Excellence staff is committed to individualized and personalized care. The examination is usually performed in several stages. Initially, you will be accompanied to an examination room where one of our staff members will perform preliminary testing. The doctor will then examine and consult with you. If necessary, further specialized testing may be done, such as visual field testing, corneal topography, slit lamp photography, retinal photography, keratometry, and A-scans. Once the testing is completed, the doctor will discuss the findings and recommendations with you (and your family if you desire).
